About Carla
I am a qualified designer & dressmaker with over 12 years experience.
I learnt my craft in the studio of a bridal boutique undertaking alterations and making bridesmaids dresses, working alongside seamstresses with many years industry experience.
Two years working in the Bridal and Fashion Fabrics departments for one of the UK’s most highly reputed department stores, John Lewis Oxford Street, helped me to further develop strong customer service skills and understand the importance of dealing professionally and sensitively with clients.
In 2005, I graduated from the Arts University College at Bournemouth with a degree in Fashion Studies. Throughout the three years of the degree course, I worked for a bespoke dressmaker and lingerie designer producing made-to-measure garments and alterations. In my final year at University, I designed and constructed eight couture outfits which were selected to show at Graduate Fashion Week in London. Since graduating, I have worked as a fashion designer in London.
With a passion for fashion design & dressmaking, I take pride in my work, always maintaining very high standards. My studio at home in the heart of London’s fashionable Shoreditch provides a comfortable, professional environment for consultations and fittings.
